10 Reasons to Visit Jaén on Prezi

Clay Pottery Workshop Project

We had an extremely interesting and funny Pottery Workshop hosted by Santa Catalina School last 28th March and managed by Pedro "El Alfarero". We usually travel to Úbeda and Baeza to be told about Jaén's pottery, so we decided to experience pottery craft with our hands. Students were told about the whole process and were helped to make their own pieces quite sucessfully!!! They will keep one piece themselves and will give another piece to their English partners. In a future meeting, both pieces will be painted and duly customized ;)

What are we working on now? (2)

New participants in this year's exchange have two activities ahead: - Doing their presentation for their English partners to get to know them. - Making a "10 reasons" promotional video about why people should visit Jaén stressing the city's stongest points and interests. This will work as a videoguide for future visitors and turists.

Las dos actividades des este último trimestre del curso son las siguientes:
- Presentación (vídeo o ppt) para las familias que nos van a acoger.
- Documental promocional de la ciudad de Jaén "10 razones" para animar a futuros visitantes y turistas a conocer los puntos fuertes e interesantes de Jaén.

What are we working on now? (1)

First and most important task at the moment is the Brochure making, our final product!. We have already started and can't wait to see the results!!!!

Spanish Sweet for Halloween! / All Saints' Day

Here you are a video on a traditional sweet eaten in Spain at Halloween time. Traditionally, we celebrate All Saints' Day, also called All Hallows or Hallowmas, familiar, right?. This is only one of the assorted sweets for these days as people also eat baked pumpkin, sweet potatoes with cinnamon and "Huesos de Santo" (literally 'saint's bones') THANK YOU MARTA AND BLANCA FOR STARRING THE VIDEO ;)

Carnival Project

Two main tasks to work on:
1 picture of yourself dressed up.
1 description on what Carnival is like in Jaén.
As soon as I get all the pics, I will publish them on-line and we'll see how the voting ends up revealing the winner!!!
